How it started
Opulent Hair & Lash Studio was established on June 1st, 2020 (straight out of quarantine!) by two friends ready to take on salon ownership. Within the first year, the luxury services were getting noticed by the community, books were full, and space was becoming limited. By June of 2021, the first expansion was in the works and the two friends continued to build their small businesses in separate locations.
About the owner
Jess started her journey pursuing a career in dance and education. She currently holds a Bachelor’s degree in dance from Minnesota State University, Mankato. Through her part time work in retail while student teaching, she shifted to a management role in specialty retail. Opportunities continued to surface within the retail world and her education journey was put on hold.
Her childhood dreams of working in the beauty industry never faded and after having her daughter in 2015, she realized it was the right time to pursue. Soon after beginning her cosmetology journey at Regency Beauty Institute, Jess took an eyelash extension course through Ida Jane Lashes and fell in love with art of lashing. One more roadblock stood in the way as Regency unexpectedly closed. The Minnesota School of Cosmetology in Woodbury graciously accepted new students and Jess graduated with honors.
