At Opulent Hair & Lash Studio, we are committed to working with you to give you the best experience possible.  But we need your help!  In order for you to retain your customized look until your next appointment, we need you to commit to an aftercare routine, which is why we’ve designed this page just for you.  (Don’t worry, once you get the hang of it, it won’t take more than 90 seconds). Furthermore, we don’t believe in hidden fees, which is why all new clients receive a complimentary aftercare kit, which you can replenish in shop or through our “shop now” tab above.

Eyelash Extensions

Let’s start by putting the myth of not getting your lash extensions wet to rest: you CAN get your lashes wet and you SHOULD.  They should be washed twice a day, everyday.  The cleaner you keep them, the fluffier they will stay and longer they will last.  Every company seems to have their own “Lash Bath” or “Lashpoo” (we’ve really never liked the latter phrase), but here, we only guarantee one cleanser with our extensions.

We highly recommend the We Love Eyes Tea Tree Water Eyelid & Eyelash Foaming Cleanser and always have it stocked.  It pairs perfectly with the Eyelid Margin Cleansing brush, which is why you’ll receive both in your kit. It was created by an Optometrist and is void of all the icky stuff.

Now let’s get to it.  Check out the video on the right to see just how easy it is!  If you are more of a text person, here are some helpful tips to remember:

  • You need to use at least one pump per eye.  The entire eyelid and lash line needs to be covered in foam.
  • Use the brush in a downward motion when cleansing your lashes.  Circling and swirling are going to tangle your lashes and that can be difficult to undo and sometimes even painful.
  • Rinse, rinse, rinse.  You can use the cleansing brush to rinse or do a splash rinse.  (We prefer the latter so you don’t feel overly water-boarded).  Remember this is a cleanser, if you get it in your eye it will sting.
  • Let your lashes air dry, use a lint free towel (yes we have a roll of bounty in our bathroom), or a microfiber towel.  If you’re feeling real fancy, a handheld fan will work too.  I know you’re looking at that hair dryer, but we really suggest you don’t, it only takes one time to singe or melt your extensions.
  • Lastly, (but definitely not least) brush your extensions with a clean mascara wand.  You want to brush them exactly how you would apply mascara, from underneath and straight up.  You get 3 wands in your aftercare kit, we suggest keeping one in your purse, one in your car, and one at your washing station to maintain ultimate fluff and keep any squirrely lashes at bay.

Eyelash Lift & Tint

An eyelash lift & tint is a brilliant service for those that do not have the time to keep up with extensions or who are happy with their natural lashes, but would like them enhanced.  This service can be done about every 8 weeks to preserve the integrity of your natural lashes.  (Note:  Waterproof mascara is a no-no.  It leaves residue on your lash line for days which causes your natural lashes to be compromised and will effect the longevity of your lift.  Please don’t use it, not before your appointment, not after, not at all). After your lift you want to keep your eye area dry for 24 hours and only use the items in your kit.  The makeup remover you receive does not have to be rinsed (but you can rinse it if you wish).  You will also receive Elleeplex, which we like to call liquid gold.  Think of it as a deep conditioner for your lashes.  It’s going to keep your lift lifted and your lashes the healthiest they can be.  We recommend applying it every morning before you apply your makeup (you read that right, it still works  under your makeup) and every evening after your cleansing routine so it can work while you sleep.  Don’t be surprised when this tube lasts for the entire life of you lash lift (and then some), and of course we always have it stocked when you’re ready for a new tube.

This service is perfect if you want a simple routine Just remember these tips:

  • Keep your lashes as dry as possible for the first 24 hours.
  • Avoid hot water and steam on your lashes.
  • Do not play with or rub your lashes.
  • Use the Elleeplex twice a day.

Brow Lamination

If your eyes are the windows to your soul, then your brows are the frame (we don’t know who said it first, but we agree).  If your have unruly brows, this is the service for you.  Whether you want them to lay down or fluff up, a brow lamination service will simplify your makeup routine. Keep these tips in mind to keep those brows fresh

  • Only use the makeup remover in your kit.  It’s formulated exactly for this and will not effect your lamination or the tint.
  • Please leave your brows alone as much as possible for the first 48 hours.  If you can sleep on your back that will help ensure the lamination is not disturbed.  (We definitely want you to ditch the eye mask for a couple nights).
  • As with lifting, you need to try and keep your brows dry for the first 48 hours.  Avoid steam whenever possible. (We are talking about steamy showers, saunas and the pesty poof your dishwasher lets out when you open it).
  • We have just a few more rules for the first 48 hours.  Avoid exfoliation, retinols, vitamin A, AHA’s, BHA’s, steroid creams and skin thinning treatments.
  • Elleplex twice a day is a must to nourish your brows and it also doubles as a styling product (we will say it again LIQUID GOLD).  We understand some of your looks require ultimate staying power, for that we have just the right brow gel stocked and available for purchase.
  • Even with a lamination, your brows will still require some coaxing.  You’ll find a dry mascara wand in your kit for this reason.

Brow Henna

A brow henna treatment is perfect for those that want to strengthen hair, restore growth and natural shape of the brows (if your brows survived the 90’s you know exactly what we are talking about).  Elleebana sources the highest quality henna plants and manufacturing processes, which is why it is our #1 choice at Opulent Hair & Lash Studio.  It is a natural way to tint your brows and gives a tattoo like effect to the skin.  Henna will stay on your hair for up to 6 weeks and will stain the skin for 2-14 days.  This service uses no ammonia, lead, or peroxide and is vegan and cruelty free. This is how to make your henna service last:

  • Avoid sun exposure, swimming and saunas for the first 48 hours.
  • Avoid oil based products on and around your brow area
  • Do not rub the treated areas.
